Timetable for the consideration of the budget 2016 –
2017
1. On 7 July 2015 the Minister for Finance and Government Business wrote to the Business Committee with proposed dates for publishing the Draft Budget 2016-17, in accordance with Standing Order 20.2. However, given the uncertainty surrounding the timing of the UK Government’s announcement on its Spending Review, the Minister stated that the timetable was subject to change.
2. On 29 September 2015, the Minister revised her proposed timetable and, having consulted with the Finance Committee, the Business Committee agreed the date by which the Finance Committee should report on the Draft Budget.
3. In accordance with Standing Order 20.4, the Business Committee established the following timetable for the consideration of the budget 2016 – 2017:
